As Autodesk React Structures grows in awareness and adoption, a number of customers have asked what is the future viability of Robot Structural Analysis. To help share some insight with our customers, we want to give you some background on what spawned the React Structures project, where we are currently with it, and where we want it to go with React Structures and Robot Structural Analysis Professional collectively.
React Structures came to be by way of customer feedback.
We heard from many of our customers that they were ready for a new, modern, purpose-built analysis platform. They are getting tired of the tools they have been using and didn’t feel that they were continuing to meet their needs. They liked the capabilities of Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis Professional, but wanted something more tightly integrated with the rest of the Autodesk portfolio. They also needed a solution that was easy to learn and easy to use. We took a good hard look at the technologies we had, the needs and feedback of our customers, and the feedback from a lot of potential customers. We started to reimagine the workflows that engineers need to complete to design their projects, and we started to look at what a modern analysis tool should provide and how it should behave.
Building on the proven and trusted foundation of Robot Structural Analysis Professional, which is used by tens of thousands of engineers on countless projects around the globe, we started to rebuild our analysis platform. We are excited to share the first results, which you can download and try today as the React Structures Technical Preview.
What is the Future of Robot Structural Analysis Professional?
Robot Structural Analysis Professional continues to be available as standalone offering and as a component of the Ultimate editions of Autodesk Building Design Suite and Autodesk Infrastructure Design Suite. We will be making React Structures interoperable with Robot to help users of Robot complete workflows that React Structures may not fully support at this time. Robot continues to be an integral and viable part of the BIM to Fabrication workflow for users that need robust structural analysis and code based design features. We encourage Robot users to continue to invest in their preferred structural analysis solution while providing feedback on React Structures.
