Project Falcon for Revit Now Available on Labs

Project Falcon is a technology preview that simulates air flow around buildings, outdoor equipment, consumer products, or other objects of your choosing in a virtual wind tunnel. Falcon technology is extremely geometry tolerant and easy to use, enabling you to begin seeing and understanding air flow behavior within seconds of starting the application. Results update almost in real-time in response to changes in wind-direction and speed that you specify. Visualization tools available within the Falcon family of applications include 2D and 3D flow lines, shaded result planes, vector plots, and surface pressure shading. Revit Concrete Layout and Detailing Creation from SOFiSTiK

If you are a structural engineer or structural concrete detailer then you will want to read on. We are seeing a very clear trend towards vertical solutions built on top of Revit. That trend has accelerated quite a bit over the past 18 months. For example at Autodesk University in Las Vegas this November it was difficult to find anyone in the exhibit hall who was doing business in the building industry and did not have a connection or solution for Revit.

One of the solutions that I think is quite interesting is "SOFiSTiK Reinforcement for Autodesk® Revit®”. It is something that has been under development for some time. The tool helps layout concrete reinforcement and then generate the 2D detailing drawings. Even though it is still a work in progress it already does quite a bit.
