Revit Extensions for Autodesk Revit 2013 - Q3 Update is now available to download from the Subscription Center.

The Q3 Update includes enhancements to bridge modeling, integration with Autodesk® Robot™ Structural Analysis Professional 2013, and improvements to the reinforcement extensions.

Service Pack SP1 for AutoCAD Structural Detailing 2013 is now available for download from the Services & Support site and also live in the LiveUpdate system. This update includes AutoCAD 2013 SP1.1.

Automate your workflow with DesignScript

DesignScript is a unique language. It is intended to help designers build and analyze complex geometric models that would be difficult to model with interactive techniques. This type of exploratory design is best served by a scripting language that is designed for exploratory programming. Additionally DesignScript is intended to be used by designers with little previous programming experience. It is much less rigid than conventional programming languages, and it is completely integrated into the host geometry application (currently AutoCAD).

The DesgnScript Analysis and Simulation tools
DesignScript combines the programmatic construction of design geometry together with analysis and simulation. Analysis tools can be used to evaluate generated geometry, and simulation tools be used to create or modify design geometry. For example, the user can make the analysis dependent on the model geometry. If the geometry model is changed, then this will trigger an automatic re-analysis. As this example illustrates, DesignScript is set up to support an iterative approach to design. Currently, the following tools are being integrated with DesignScript:

• Robot (Structural Analysis)
• Ecotect environmental analysis
• Green Building Studio (Building performance analysis and simulation),
• SMARTform (form finding)
• Genetic Algorithm (optimization solver) [The latter two applications have been developed using DesignScript by our colleagues at Buro Happold].

With one-click access to models, walk through navigation, and online and offline features, this mobile app provides powerful functionality for BIM 360 Glue customers and strengthens the BIM 360 message of anytime, anywhere access.

Austrian Content Pack for Autodesk Revit Structure 2013 is now live and available in the Subscription Center

The Austrian Content Pack for Autodesk^® Revit^® Structure 2013 delivers new and revised country specific content based on Austrian standards. In particular, it includes the Austrian content expansion for Revit Structure 2013 templates and families for doors, windows, foundations and individual annotations. The content has been compiled to help meet local user requirements and expectations. The documentation included explains how the library can be installed and provides additional content descriptions and explanations.

Claddings In Robot Structural Analysis Professional

To help the design process and provide structural engineers with the right tools at the right time, Robot Structural Analysis Professional provides the cladding tool for applying loads and helping to streamline the process.
The Cladding tool is an auxiliary object used to define loads. Structural Engineers can take advantage of cladding when generating bar loads from planar objects and snow/wind loads in 3D geometry. It allows to define real structure objects that do not participate in the load capacity of a structure, such as panel walls and roofing. And then they can apply planar, linear and concentrated loads to claddings.
