CSC becomes an Autodesk Industry Business Partner

I'm happy to share with you that this week CSC, a leading structural engineering software developer announced the formation of a new industry strategic business relationship with Autodesk to further promote the adoption of Building Information Modeling (BIM) within the global structural engineering community. Thanks to this both companies will provide customers more closely integrated solutions that support a more efficient structural engineering workflow for BIM.

Change Workshared Project back to a non-workshared model

In previous version of Revit Structure, if you enabled worksharing for your project, but then you want to change it back to a non-workshared project, there is no function to change it back directly.
In Revit Structure 2012, you can disable worksharing.

1.Click [R]>Open>Project (or click Open icon in Quick Access Toolbar), browse to the central file or local file
2.Check “Detach from Central”，click Open

3.In “Detach from Central” dialog, select “Detach and discard worksets”, the file will be opened

4.Click Collaborate tab>Worksets panel, you will see worksharing is not enabled currently.

So the project you opened now has changed back to normal file without worksharing enabled. You can save this project, or click Collaborate tab>Worksets panel>Worksets to re-enable worksharing again.

Member Section Schedule Extension for Revit Structure 2012

The Member Section Schedule Extension for Autodesk Revit Structure 2012 has gone live on the Subscription Center. This Extension automates the creation of member section schedules for RC beams and columns to enhance the productivity of structural engineers and improve the quality of the documentation. Content is available in Japanese only.

Learn SDS/2 Connect

Design Data recently launched SDS2Connect which is a  Revit Structure add on that designs steel connections. The connections designed in SDS2 are validated for constructability and also has the option to code check to select national codes including AISC and CAN codes. To support this release and to follow up on the strong interest for this solution Design Data  introduced a new learning series for SDS/2 Connect called 30 @ 3 LIVE. New structural content for Revit Structure is available

Dear Revit Structure users,

We have just uploaded some new country specific, structural .rfa content and templates in the Subscription Center for you to download.

The delivery inludes content for Brazil, Russia and Spain.

The Content Pack provides structural engineers with access to additional content and families based on respective market requirements helping structural engineers to streamline the design and analysis process and access the components they need.  

Please log into the Subscription Center in order to access the new content libraries.
