Revit Structure 2008 Updated SP3 (20071209_1300)

Dear Revit Structure users,

For your information, some of our Revit Structure 3rd party developer partners have reported an API issue (beams creation with NewFamilyInstance) in the Revit Structure 2008 previous SP3 build (20071109_2345) which affects them to develop their API tool to integrate properly with Revit Structure.

Our Revit Structure development team has addressed this particular API change request for our partners by re-releasing the Revit Structure 2008 Updated SP3 new build (20071209_1300) currently available on the Revit Structure 2008 product download page:www.autodesk.com/revitstructure-downloads

P.S. If you are NOT developing or using any API tool with this “beams creation with NewFamilyInstance” with Revit Structure, you don’t need to download this Updated SP3 new build (20071209_1300) and you can keep using the previous SP3.

Thanks

Wai

CSIxRevit2008 update is now available

CSI has just released an updated CSIxRevit2008 Link.

Below is a list of the implemented enhancements and resolved incidents/bugs that are included in the new CSIxRevit2008 that is compatible with ETABS 9.1.7 and Revit Structure 2008 SP3. Both ETABS 9.1.7 and CSIxRevit2008 were released on Monday 12/17/2007. It can be downloaded here: http://www.csiberkeley.com/Revit/

Enhancements:

·       The speed has been substantially improved for updating large models from ETABS to Revit Structure 2008.

·       For models imported from Revit Structure 2008, ETABS no longer assigns an auto-select frame section list to members that have only a single frame section property assigned to them in Revit.

·       A new CSIxRevit has been released that is compatible with ETABS v9.1.7.

Incidents/Bugs resolved:

·       Camber data for composite beams was not correctly being exported to Revit Structure 2008. This has been resolved.

·       A runtime error sometimes occurred when importing elevator shafts from Revit Structure 2008. This has been resolved.

·       Wall openings with less than two points were not being imported from Revit Structure 2008. This has been resolved.

·       The units-conversions for Young’s modulus and shear modulus of floor and wall materials, as well as for the thermal expansion coefficient for all materials, were not always handled correctly.

  • Complete installation version with all the Extensions, installed at once
  • One-time licensing of all present and future Extensions as regards relevant Engine version numbers
  • Extensions Manager - Alphabetical sorting of the hierarchy and toolbar
  • Extensions Manager - The Engine version number is displayed in the Extensions Manager title bar
  • Implementation of the support of Revit Structure 'structural' units
  • Enhancement - entering imperial units (by default, a naked value is treated as a foot)
  • Enhancement - use of the network license of the ROBOT Office pack

2- New Extension – Static analysis for slabs has just been released!

You can download it at: http://www.extensions4revit.com/n/e4r/847/53

Static analysis of slabs 1.0 - try basic version for FREE

The Static analysis of slabs extension allows performing static analysis of a slab defined in a Revit Structure model.

It enables loading necessary information from Revit Structure such as: slab geometry, constraints/supports, load cases, load combinations, loads. Results obtained for a defined slab model are displayed in the graphical (maps of a selected quantity) and tabular form.

Additionally, obtained results with data concerning the analyzed slab may be presented in the form of a report (in the HTML format); a report for a slab can be printed, saved to a file or sent to a MS Excel© or MS Word© document.

The base (free) version will be limited to 250 Finite Elements while the enchanced version is not limited in terms of FE.

Revit Structure: Efficient, accurate documentation, analysis, and design for structural engineering.

You're invited to experience Revit Structure!

Dear Revit Structure Customer,

Hi, I'm Scott Hammond, Autodesk Technical Marketing Manager for Revit® Structure. I'd like to invite you to join me on December 18 for a special webcast presentation.

In this presentation, you'll see firsthand how Revit Structure integrates its analytical model with industry leading structural analysis and design programs RISA FLoor, RISA 3D and ADAPT Floor. Through this informative webcast, I hope to show you how Revit Structure software integrates a physical model with an analytical model for more efficient analysis, design, and documentation.

First Revit Structure book is now available!

One of our Revit Structure power user Francis Leung from Hong Kong has written a book on "Quick Start Revit Structure 2008". During the Autodesk University 2007 in Las Vegas (11/26-11/30), Francis has taught two excellent Revit Structure advanced classes. At the end of each class, Francis has given several of his books to the audience as a gift.

I am very excited about this book as it is really the first book written by a customer on our software. For more information on how to purchase this book, please contact franciscsl@netvigator.com
